“Life is like a landscape. You live in the midst of it but can describe it only from the vantage point of distance”~Charles Lindbergh
I think the geography of the region where one spends their childhood, substantially affects the priority of destinations in one’s travel list. Well, at least that’s what happened with me and a couple of friends. Born and brought up in the northern region of India, mountains, and landscapes will always hold a special place in my heart. If I am down I go to the mountains, if I am down I go to the mountains, if I am at peace I go to the mountains. With this gallery, I hope to share some of that joy with everyone.
“You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.”-Mark Twain
Even though cities and skyscrapers are third on my priority list when it comes to travel, right after mountains and beaches, the mesmerizing views like the one pictured on the right are worth the hassle of navigating the heavy traffic and dense population in some of the cities I have visited.
“Be yourself. Don’t worry about what other people are thinking of you.”-Phil Lester
Well, sometimes I also like to capture portraits of people or even pets, in different situations, reaching different milestones. That is the art of the everyday. The primary goal is to tell stories about people’s lives or to inspire people at different times.
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”~ St. Augustine
The quote above has been an inspiration for me since I could afford to travel myself, and since then I have been trying to grab any opportunity I can to explore the world. I have a huge list of places I want to cover, and I will be posting pictures of my destinations to this gallery.
“I am glad I will not be young in a future without wilderness.”~Aldo Leopold
Animals fascinate me more than humans do. Observing them in their natural habitat is one thing I have always wanted to do, and also tried to do. I am not a big fan of zoos, but still, sometimes I think that humans have desolated the natural habitat of animals to such extremes that zoos are still a safer place for them to exist. I think we as ordinary people can learn a lot from animals in the wild.
“I think that we are like stars. Something happens to burst us open, but when we burst open and think we are dying; we’re actually turning into a supernova. And then when we look at ourselves again, we see that we’re suddenly more beautiful than we ever were before!”― C. JoyBell C.
My fascination with stars began when I was a kid and I used to stay at my grandmother’s place. My nights were spent lying on a cot on the roof of our house, watching constellations, shooting stars, and airplanes. I have never been more at peace that the times I have spent hours beneath the starry sky trying to get a glimpse of some shooting star or observe the movement of the stars (of course relative to the earth).
